Facing Addiction / Embracing Recovery

Addiction touches lives across our country – in big cities, and small towns. On the streets and in affluent neighbourhoods. Teenagers and seniors – addiction knows no boundaries.

Many people want to help those who are struggling but feel lost about where to begin.

With over 50 years of helping men and women across Canada overcome addiction, Teen Challenge Canada has developed a resource to educate about substance misuse and give tools to those looking to help.

This presentation is an opportunity for us to give back to our communities by sharing our understanding and insights about addiction and the best ways to support those who are struggling.

Who’s It For?

Churches are often an initial touchpoint for those seeking help. However, many pastors and church leaders don’t feel equipped to provide meaningful support. Our resource can help.

Many businesses are navigating addiction in the workplace. Managers and leaders are left wondering how they can compassionately assist their employee while remaining professional. Our resource can help.

Unfortunately, our schools are also faced with an addiction crisis. Teachers and educational support staff see a different side of kids than their parents might. How can they reach these students? Our resource can help.

What to expect

Each presentation will be approximately 90 minutes and include testimonies, a slide show, and an opportunity for Q&A. The information will be presented by a trained TC representative, which could be a staff member, graduate, or regional representative.

During the session, you’ll learn about addiction and recovery, discover practical steps to engage those experiencing addiction, and hear personal testimonies from Teen Challenge graduates about the transformational work of our program. These stories provide hope that lasting change is possible.

We are committed to working with local groups, so this presentation is available to as many communities as possible.

The logistics

Facing Addiction/Embracing Recovery can be presented at churches, businesses, schools, community groups, or any other setting where people have a desire to learn more so they can help more. This resource is also available as a webinar.
